Pedro Correia

Pedro Correia was born in Entroncamento in 1974. 

He studied Mechatronics Engineering at Fernave, before completing a course in singing at the Conservatory of Music in Lisbon. Pedro holds a bachelor degree in Music from the Escola Superior de Música of Lisbon, and a Masters in Music Education from the Escola Superior de de Artes e Espectáculos.

His professional career has included the Music Service of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and the Teatro Nacional of São Carlos in Lisbon.

As a soloist he has performed a variety of roles, including Rossini’s Bartolo, Donizetti’s Don Pasquale and Mozart’s Pap agueno, in addition to oratorio performances such as Messiah,Mozart’s Requiem and the Verdi Requiem.

Pedro received two Honourable Mentions in the Concurso Internacional Luísa Todi. 

As a conductor, he has directed important works both in Portugal and abroad. His most recent performance was the Rutter Magnificat with Concórdia Música. 

His teaching career has involved working in Portugal and England. He currently teaches at the Conservatório de Música of Santarém. 

He has been chorus master and conductor at the ZêzereArts Festival since 2013.
