Nuno Raimondo

Nuno de Mendonça Raimundo is a tenor and researcher at the Center for the Study of Sociology and Musical Aesthetics (CESEM) at the Universidade Nova de Lisboa. He is currently studying for a doctorate in historical musicology at the same university and studying singing under Armando Possante.

He is mainly dedicated to the study and interpretation of ancient music, especially the Iberian polyphony of the 16th and 17th centuries. In addition to his regular collaboration with Coro Gulbenkian, he has worked with renowned Portuguese ensembles, such as Grupo Vocal Olisipo (director Armando Possante), Capela Joanina (director João Janeiro), Polyphonos (director José Bruto da Costa), Bando de Surunyo (director Hugo Sanches), Cappella dei Signori (director Ricardo Bernardes), Záve (director Brian MacKay), Capella Duriensis (director Jonathan Ayerst) and Moços do Coro (director Nuno Almeida), among others.
