Mauro Lopes Ferreira studied violin with Felix Ayo and furthered his studies in early music in the class of Enrico Gatti and Sigiswald Kujiken. He regularly collaborates with Jordi Savall (Concert des Nations, Hespèrion XX), la Capella dei Turchini and the Baroque Orchestra of Seville.

He plays a Giovanni Battista Guadagninni violin.
