Ensemble Pulcinella

For fifteen years Pulcinella has brought together a group of virtuoso soloists and chamber musicians, all passionate about the practice of historical instruments and members of the most prestigious ensembles, gathered around Ophélie Gaillard. These musicians perform a thorough work on sound as well as articulation, revisiting some of the major pages of the repertoire, and committed to discovering unprecedented or unknown works.

The ensemble’s six recordings were praised by the press : Vivaldi’s Complete Sonatas for Cello and Basso continuo (2006), Luigi Boccherini (2007) and Bach Arias (2012). Since 2014 two albums, devoted to Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach and recorded by the Pulcinella Orchestra, have been awarded and praised by the national and international press (Diapason d’Or of the year, Choc by Classica, honors in Strad, Toccata, Gramophone).

The ensemble regularly works together with the best singers of the younger generation and performs in the most prestigious cinemas (Théâtre du Châtelet, Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, Arsenal in Metz, Festivals of Beaune, Radio France and Montpellier, Pontoise, Colmar, Vezelay …) Critically acclaimed worldwide, Pulcinella also regularly performs in Europe (Germany, Switzerland, Italy) and Latin America.

Pulcinella develops a policy that is particularly committed to its territory of residence, Île-de-France, the Paris region, and more particularly in Seine-Saint-Denis and hopes to make as many people as possible discover baroque and classical music.

The Pulcinella Orchestra has been performing since 2013 as an orchestra, alongside the Maîtrise (Mastership) of Radio-France under the direction of Sofi Jeanin, the Pages and Chanters of the CMBV under the direction of Olivier Schneebeli and with the Arsys Burgundy Choir.
